“Rebooting” Staff Attitude, Teamwork, and Montessori Practice
Create a Culture Where Learning, Collaboration, and Experimentation Happen Everyday In Montessori education, we guide students to be “life-long learners,” open and willing to engage in new ways of thinking, learning, communicating, and working. Yet, as we all know, getting adults – teachers, administrative staff, and parents – to be as open-minded and open-hearted as children, is no simple task. Creating a “prepared environment” of continuous, self-motivated adult learning, nurtured by a culture of joyful collaboration, may be the most important job of a school leader – and possibly the most difficult. But it can be done! Join Jonathan Wolff, in Leading Edge Leadership Module 3, as we delve deeply into 6 Essential Topics for Creating a Culture of Continuous Self-Improvement, Professional Development, and Harmonious Teamwork Session 1. Balancing Empathy and Accountability in Managing Staff Session 2. “Finding Words That Get Results” Motivating Learning and Change Session 3. Enhancing Teacher Morale, Cooperation, and Self-Improvement Session 4. “The Transformative Power of Silence” Unlocking Fixed Mindsets Session 5. “Working Your Two Leadership Gears” Take Charge and Step Back Session 6. “Leading in the Flow of Work” How to Stay Relaxed and Responsive LEADING EDGE LEADERSHIP COURSE FORMAT Each week you will receive one of the above topics, in the form of a 30 – 45 minute pre-recorded video, presented by Jonathan, for your review and study. A week later you will have an opportunity to attend a live discussion with Jonathan and other school leaders on how to implement the leadership skills and strategies in your school in relation to that topic. Participants in the course are not required to attend the live discussion sessions. However, the feedback we’ve received from school leaders who participated in Module 1. And 2. Is that the group discussion sessions were invaluable in helping them plan how to apply these new leadership approaches in their school community.
